Founder and business leader in the education and training sector

Joe Quilter has worked in publishing and training for his entire career.

Joe firstly worked for Pearsons who sponsored him through his professional postgraduate marketing qualifications.

He then worked with Brunel University and associated Colleges to market the institution and to maintain and improve the public perception of the organisation. During his period with the University, Joe also won two prestigious HEIST education awards for strategic marketing. He also completed a Masters Degree in Marketing.

As an Account Director for a specialist branding and marcoms agency, Joe has worked with many education institutions including Oxford Brookes University, Southampton University and Winchester College to help them improve their image.

Joe then moved to the corporate training field with AdVal Group plc where he successfully marketed the company as a household name after launching on the London Stock Exchange in 1998.

He has also managed many projects and clients including Volkswagen; Head Teachers and Industry; Ford Credit Europe; Standard Life; and College of Law.

As Director of Publishing for AdVal, Joe also integrated companies into the Group including Financial Times Knowledge and launched new products in partnership with the UK’s largest awarding body Edexcel.

Joe Quilter then established ea4u, a national centre for qualifications providing programmes to major organisations such as BT and Barclays Bank. He also set up QVQ Education, providing teacher software support for the school classroom. Harcourt and Edexcel remain its largest clients.

Joe is a consultant producing off-the-shelf and bespoke e-learning materials; e-diagnostics such as ‘e’ enabled 360 degree appraisal systems, Learning Management Systems and e-portfolio systems; and e-communities where groups of people can come together to network and learn new skills.

Joe Quilter is keynote speaker and has been invited to talk at Oxford University’s Said Business School, the Financial Times and the London Stock Exchange. As a practicing qualified trainer he also chairs a National seminar programme to encourage the sharing of learning experiences.

A keen educationalist and marketer, Joe also plays hockey for Gerrards Cross and the United Armed Services Hockey Clubs. He has also been the Hockey Club Chairman, is a qualified coach and is now involved in youth development.

Joe lives in the Chiltern Hills with his wife Jeanette and son Craig.
