VR in learning – What does it take to make it?

20th September, 2019

THE EVENT: Aimed at eLearning Network members from a non-VR making background. Do you want to learn what it takes to build a VR learning experience? No previous experience is required. Just a willingness to get stuck in.

THE PLAN: Jo will open the day by outlining where VR has impact. You will then hear from our expert speakers who will be dissecting case studies, covering best practice and sharing their insight. From there the afternoon will be a design sprint with the expert speakers where we will workshop in small groups to brainstorm ideas for VR learning experiences. Then, we’ll refine and critique the ideas with the help of experts in both VR creative and VR making. The aim is for attendees to get to grips with what it takes to go from need, to idea, to the final experience. It is a chance to chat in small groups about ideas and how to realise them. All with input from VR experts.

Our experts for this event are:

Jo Webb from 3Rs Immersive

Mark Baxter from Digitalnaughts

Ted Wallace-Williams from Nucco Brain

Sophie Costin from Make Real

THE PREPARATION: Think of the event as a collaborative “ideas and preparing a storyboard” workshop. This way we can focus on creating something together. The basic skills needed to prepare an engaging VR learning experience will feature. Together we will share and iterate to learn what does and doesn’t work.

Registration will be from 9:45, with everything kicking off at 10:00.

PLEASE NOTE: This ticket is not transferable. The member/person who purchases the ticket needs to be the person who attends the event.
